Post Australia GP and Dubai trip
So the year is underway, I can’t believe how much time has passed again since I updated my blog.
I missed the race on Sunday. The first time I have missed the first race of the season since I started watching F1. The reason: I was doing a keynote presentation at an IDC CIO summit in Dubai. It was a really good trip and Virgin Atlantic were as usual – excellent.
The Middle East is an exciting region to work in, a huge amount of investment and growth, most of the global companies are in Dubai. They have some infrastructure issues with their WAN links, but it wont take long for them to sort that out.
Australia was a good race for the team, 4th for Fernando is an outstanding result. I made the point at the IDC summit that you need performance and reliability but sometimes reliability can compensate for performance (but only if your competition are not reliable!). A reliability issue for Nelsinho after a really fast start was to say the least unfortunate
And so we look forward to Malaysia on the Easter weekend. We can’t be sure what our season will pan out like until after Spain (probably). 2007 season is dead, as long as we do better than that!
